– Aber ich brauche eine Geschichte!
– Da gibts keine.
Also zeichne ich ein Sofa, Mann auf Sofa, einen altmodischen Teppich, und darauf einen Mann. Inbegriff moderner Produktivität. Aber das mit dem Mann klappt nicht, ich guck mir so ungefär hundert Stockfotos an mit Titeln wie: „Schöner Mann, der auf Sofa mit Kopfhörern ruht“, „glücklicher mann, der an seinem laptop auf dem sofa arbeitet“, „Junger attraktiver mann, der auf sofa zu hause sitzt und online am laptop arbeitet, unter verwendung des internets“ … Attraktiv finde ich ihn ja, jung, naja, ich scheitere. Dann eben ein Tier, ein Einsiedlerkrebs. Sternbild stimmt immerhin. Hat uns das letzte Jahr nicht alle zu Einsiedlerkrebsen gemacht? Und vor über hundert Jahren verwandelten Menschen sich auch schon in – okay, Insekten – , denkt mal an Herrn Samsa von Franz Kafka.

So I draw a sofa with a man on it and an old-fashioned carpet. The epitome of modern productivity. But drawing the man doesn’t work out, I look at about a hundred stock photos with titles like: “Handsome man resting on sofa with headphones“, “Happy man working on his laptop on the sofa“, “Young attractive man sitting on sofa at home and working online on laptop, using the internet“ … I find him attractive, but young? I need an animal then, a hermit crab. Zodiac sign is right, after all. Hasn‘t last year turned us all into hermit crabs? And more than a hundred years ago, people also turned into – well insects — , think of Herr Samsa by Franz Kafka.
